Dr. Roya Etminani-ghasrodashti is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Texas at Arlington. She is an urban planning scholar with research interests in the area of transportation and land use planning. Her line of research centers on travel behavior, built environment, individuals’ lifestyle, attitudes and perceptions towards transportation and residential neighborhoods. She has worked on young adults’ travel behavior, online and in-store shopping trips, and on-demand ride services in different urban settings.
She has also researched other planning fields such as social housing and women’s perception of security/crime in the neighborhoods.

Her current work covers the roles of built environment and travel burden on cancer patients’ decision-making in their health-related behaviors.

Roya was previously an Assistant Professor at the School of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Art, Science & Research Branch, Islamic Azad University (SRBIAU), Tehran (2016-2019). She received her Ph.D. in Urban Studies at SRBIAU in 2016.
