In light of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, CTEDD leadership has decided to postpone the CTEDD 2020 event until further notice. We will reschedule the event, hopefully with an identical structure of workshops and networking opportunities, for late summer or early fall of 2020. And we hope our amazing roster of speakers will still be available to share their wisdom. We will keep you informed about a future date once one is selected. If you have been working with our staff to secure travel/lodging for this event, we will be in touch in the coming weeks to process cancellations.
As of today, the University of Texas at Arlington remains operational, but a number of universities nationwide have curtailed their travel and large gatherings, and we must therefore do our part to safeguard the health of our colleagues. An additional consideration is that our out-of-state visitors would have had to pass through the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, one of the nation’s busiest airports and often a very crowded place. While no cases of COVID-19 have yet been traced to DFW airport, we can’t in good conscience ask our guests to undertake non-essential air travel or conference attendance in the midst of this crisis.
Please know that we were very much looking forward to seeing the entire CTEDD family under one roof for the first time, and postponing this event was not an easy decision to make. But your health and safety must be our top priority. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out at firstname.lastname@example.org.
