CAPPA, UTA, ARLINGTON, TX: On June 10, 2025, faculty, staff, and interns from the Center for Transportation Equity, Decisions, and Dollars (CTEDD) visited the UT Arlington Research Institute (UTARI) to explore opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.
Dr. Qisheng Pan, CTEDD Director, and Dr. Eileen M. Clement, UTARI Interim Executive Director, led the visit, accompanied by research staff and student interns. During the visit, the group engaged with UTARI researchers and toured five cutting-edge labs and ongoing projects: Airborne Computing Networks, the Institute for Predictive Performance Methodologies, Advanced Controls and Sensor Systems, Biomedical Technologies, and Automation and Intelligent Systems.
The visit highlighted several promising opportunities for collaborative research between CTEDD and UTARI, particularly in advancing transportation planning innovations. Potential joint initiatives include enhancing mobility and accessibility for older adults and individuals with disabilities, developing aerial delivery systems for urban logistics, and integrating unmanned vehicle technologies into smart transportation infrastructure.
