Dr. Wood serves as Program Manager of CTEDD, overseeing much of the Center's day-to-day operations. These duties include managing financial records and project budgets, overseeing the grant process from start to finish, organizing the Center's calendar of events, communicating with project team leaders, ensuring compliance with UT System, state, and federal regulations, and supporting the development of the Center's many student researchers. Having worked as a researcher himself, Dr. Wood brings a unique perspective to this position of research administration. He is also an experienced classroom teacher, and is a tireless supporter of CTEDD's student workers and educational mission on the UTA campus.
Before transitioning to administration, Dr. Wood led research projects at CTEDD exploring bikeshare, electric scooters, and transit planning for Texas suburbs. As a graduate student, he specialized in transportation planning for older adults, and has been published on issues of rural transit, age-conscious transportation planning, and the politics of streetcars in American cities.
